The Yunhe Yuchengyi Historical and Cultural Block is located on the banks of the Dayun River, a World Heritage Site in the southern part of Gaoyou City. It covers an area of 242 acres and is bordered by the western embankment of the Yunhe River to the west, the Nanhaizi River to the north, and Dazhuji Lane and the Mayintang River to the south. The core attraction, Guyucheng Post Station, is a large-scale and well preserved Ming Dynasty water horse post station in China. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit, a world cultural heritage site, a "living fossil" of China Post Station, and a national 4A level tourist attraction. Relying on unique postal cultural resources, in order to create a characteristic commercial cluster area with Yucheng Post as the core, Nanmen Street as the vertical axis, Guanyi Lane as the horizontal axis, and related resources of the ancient canal as the support point, Yucheng East City as an important node, integrating leisure, entertainment, catering, and shopping, since 2016, the Municipal Culture and Tourism Group has invested nearly 500 million yuan and has completed the development and construction of Nanmen Ancient Street District and Dongshi Commercial District. The Nanmen Ancient Street District is mainly focused on food and snacks, intangible cultural heritage industries, handicrafts, and leisure tea drinks. There are a total of 76 storefronts in the block, with a total construction area of 4514 square meters. The area has been fully expropriated and renovated, and investment has been completed for external business. The Dongshi Commercial District is located in the eastern part of Yuchengyi Scenic Area, with a total area of 33126 square meters. The first phase of Dongshi has been in operation for 4 years, and the second phase of Dongshi project will be completed in October 2020.
