Yucheng Post Station is located in Guanyi Lane, Nanmen Street, Gaoyou City, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It was first built in the eighth year of the Ming Hongwu reign (1375) and is a large-scale and well preserved ancient post station in China. In the second year of Longqing (1568), the governor Zhao Laiheng rebuilt according to the old system. Afterwards, the governors Zhang Desheng, Feng Xin, Zhu Ronggui, and others successively rebuilt or renovated. Covering an area of over 16000 square meters.
Yucheng Post Station has more than 100 halls and rooms, including post stations, post houses, Qin Post Mansion, post officials' residences, military officer halls, horse temples, horse sheds, warehouses, supervision rooms, post soldiers' dormitories and other buildings. Huanghua Hall and Zhujie Hall are the main buildings of Yucheng Post. In the eighth year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1375), the governor Huang Keming built the Yucheng Post outside the south gate of Gaoyou City. In the first year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1403), the governor Wang Jun was restored. In the 36th year of the Jiajing reign (1557), Japanese pirates invaded the territory and the Yucheng Post was destroyed by the war.
